How To Strengthen Your Immune System
So, the panic is beginning to set in for so many here in the USA over the Corona Virus. Stores running out of basic supplies, hoarding, yesterday a dear friend said he was in Walmart getting a few basic supplies for his senior aged parents and as he turned his back to get frozen vegetables a women took the toilet paper from his cart, not one package, but both. Really?
So, I’ve posted a few basics to help boost your immune system or at the very least keep you somewhat healthy. I currently believe there are many people with compromised immune systems just because they work in stressful arena’s all day, they eat a fully processed food diet and they rarely take the time to even consider their health and wellness.
For me, it’s been 21 years since my mom passed and 19 since my dad. Their health issues put me on a trajectory of learning about health and wellness, food and nutrition. A few of you know, I am fully Gluten free and have been for well over 10 years. I will never go back. With the removal of gluten from my diet I was able to better handle all other allergies, I rarely if ever have headaches, or the sinus drip that was a constant struggle before. If I get Gluten by mistake, say from a body cream or shampoo, it takes 3 days to absorb in my system and I feel sick and head achy. It takes approx. 4 days for the adverse effects to diminish.
I also did 2 full years completely sugar free and now go back and forth. It’s a harder struggle because although I know it increases the pain in my joints, I like the social interaction and the feelings of celebration that come from cake, desserts and the like.
Other things I learned while caring for my mom was how sensitive she was to germs. She was extremely immune compromised. Her doctor suggested we put a large pot of water on the stove on warming with Peroxide, the steam would help to kill any germs. Today, I have multiple air diffusers going throughout the house with Thieves Essential Oils for germ mitigation.
I also love my Norwex products that help kill germs because of their patented silver interwoven material. I rarely use chemicals or paper towels since I began my journey with that company. Lastly, whole foods are important, for vitamin and mineral intake from fruits and vegetables, my favorite bright green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, along with broccoli and avocado’s. If your body is not sufficiently absorbing nutrients be sure to get plenty of Vitamin C, D, B’s and for your heart Calcium & Magnesium in absorb able forms. I use Lactate because that works for me.
I’m hoping to see many who end up enjoying this time confined with family, getting to know each other as they’ve not been able to in such a long time.
